Big, Little Guy

You are getting so big, little guy! You manage to get yourself up on your hands and knees all by yourself. No forward crawling yet, but I know it's coming soon. You are still happy ALL. THE. TIME. You absolutely love to play with everything that is not a toy (i.e. the PlayStation controller, PlayStation cord, cell phones, remotes, pop/water bottles, sweatshirt strings, etc.). From previous experience with your sister, I've learned that you babes never grow out of this stage. Your sis still loves to play with things that are not considered toys. You and her get along so well, too. She plays with you. She sings to you. She sleeps with you. She talks to you. She is the best big sis you could ever ask for. The super nice thing? She gets to watch you grow up right along with me.

My Little Guy

So today I'm just going to tell you how much I love you.

No matter what mood I'm in - crabby, irritated, angry... you always bring a smile to my face. I can count on you to make mommy feel all better. You smile. I smile. That's how it works. Last night you and your sister slept in your crib together. It was so darn precious! I took pictures of course. She rubbed your head while reading books, and even sang you nuh-night songs as I was walking out of the room.

Your new thing is to turn yourself in circles when you're on your tummy. You used to hate tummy time, but now you love it. And I love watching you have fun. You and your sis are the highlight of my day. I love you both very much and wouldn't trade you for anything in this entire world! Watching you both grow up and become closer makes my heart melt, and I can't wait to see you reach the milestones that are yet to come. Next up: crawling.

Feetsies

Oh these feetsies. Yes... feetsies. That's what we call them around here. They're adorably, cute, and even more so when they're the only thing sticking out of your blanket when you're all wrapped up. I kiss them. I tickle them. I play 'Pat-a-cake' with them. And you love it. It makes you smile and giggle like no tomorrow. And we both know, there's nothing I like more than making you smile! :)

Mama's Voice

Oh boy, did you miss your mama today! You were sleeping when I was picked up from work, but towards the end of the drive you had woken up and immediately started talking. As soon you heard my voice though you began to fuss. Wasn't quite sure why? So I rubbed your head and put your nookie back in your mouth. As soon I stopped rubbing you though you began to fuss again. Then I started talking to your sister and you settled down. When you didn't hear my voice you fussed. Then I'd talk again and you'd be quiet. I like to think that after you saw it was me in the car, the sound of my voice calmed you. Just knowing mama's close by gave you peace of mind. You were away from me for about 11 hours!

Today's highlights:
  • Definitely that my voice was calming you down in the car. I love that you love your mommy time. Especially when I've been away from you all day.
  • You gave me tons of smiles once we got home. And when I see your cute, little baby face I just can't help but smile myself. You brighten my days, baby boy.
  • When you were over at a friend's house, you fell asleep next to one of the girls. She's 2. You're already going for the older gals, eh? :) I received a pic of it, and it was absolutely adorable!

Happy Boy

This is the handsome face I get to see every single day. Always happy. Always smiling. Always laughing. Believe me, you do get fussy, but it's only when you want something. Once you have it, you are juuust fine, and go back to your smiley, old self. Much like the pics above.

Sick Baby

Oh, baby boy. Where do I begin with you? Not only are you happy all the time, but it seems as if you are sick all the time as well. But that doesn't get you down. You're still a smiley baby.

It was heartbreaking listening to you cough and choke and gag while you were trying to sleep last night. As a mama, I felt helpless. There was nothing I could do to make it all better for you. Eventually, the cough did subside you and were able to sleep somewhat peacefully.

Today's highlights:
  • You wanted mommy. You were screaming and crying for about 20 minutes. Nothing would calm you down... until mommy held you. All you wanted was mommy time, apparently. I was definitely okay with that.
  • You ate all your bottles at daycare! It's been about a week since you've finished all three bottles because you've been so sick. Good job, little man!
  • You had a bath for the first time in what feels like two (or more) weeks. Yes I know, BAD MOMMY. I need to bathe you much more often. You smelled so fresh and clean. And I'm sure it made you feel better too.
And tomorrow is a new day. A day that we get to spend together because mommy doesn't work. Your big sis will be here too, of course. Can't wait :)
